RAG BAG SCHEME: RECYCLING YOUR OLD CLOTHES

Thank you very much for all Rag Bag donations we have already received – so far we have collected 94kg of clothing donations raising just over £37 for our school.

The next collection of Rag Bags is few weeks away so this will be a good opportunity to have a clear out of your wardrobe before Christmas. If you have any unwanted wearable clothing, paired shoes, handbags and belts, please fill the Rag Bag and return to the school. A bag should have been sent home with each pupil.

Bags should be dropped off in room G3 between 8:30am–9am and 3:20pm–4pm on Friday the 9th of December.

Help raise money for Oldmachar Academy’s Eco Group – we will receive £400 per tonne of Rag Bag donations.

Visit Rag Bag Textile Recycling for more details. Thank you!

RECYCLING YOUR UNWANTED ELECTRONIC DEVICES

If you have electronic devices at home that you no longer use then here is your chance to get rid of them in time for Christmas – and you can rest assured the data will be wiped safely!

Take any unwanted equipment to room C14 by Thursday 8th December 2016. Please note that we can only accept electronics from households.

We gladly accept: website-electronic-devices-recyling-1
All products will be refurbished and data bearing equipment donated will be wiped by Re-Tek’s CESG government approved data erasure software.

Funds raised through the collection service will be donated to Aberdeen schools. This electrical reuse project is a partnership between Aberdeen City Council, Re-Tek, a specialist ICT re-sale company and Enscape, a resource efficiency consultancy. Collections are being undertaken by a local third sector organisation.

Our school will be automatically entered into the “Green Santa Competition”, where the school that collects the highest number of items will receive a prize.
