Support for pupils in the most general sense involves all teaching and support staff. Everything we do is about ensuring that pupils have a positive experience of education.
It involves members of the Pupil Support team, who provide pastoral support at various stages of a young person’s development. It also includes members of the Support for Learning team, which contains teaching staff and Pupil Support Assistants.
Support for pupils is organised on a House basis with a PT Pupil Support responsible for each house. Year Heads oversee an allocated year group and work closely with the Pupil Support PTs in dealing with complex situations, such as serious breaches of school rules, or complex multi–agency planning processes.

PUPIL SUPPORT CENTRE
The Pupil Support Centre aims to meet the wide range of individual needs of all of our learners at Oldmachar Academy. Through a calm and positive learning environment, we strive to ensure pupils fulfil their potential and are equipped with skills for learning, life and work.
Our team approach with curriculum staff, parents/carers, primary schools and external agencies ensures that we put the young person at the centre of what we do.
Support and challenge is provided in-class and via purposefully prepared 1:1/small group lessons.
